A Poem About HIV/AIDS

A Poem about HIV/AIDS

I am HIV/AIDS
I am a killer
A merciless killer
I kill all ages
The gentle and the innocent
The poor and the rich
The educated and the illiterate
From low to high positions
I am HIV/AIDS
I am cruel and evil
Breaking families and relationships
I am a killer on the loose
Watch out for me
I am dangerous

The Price of Freedom - Before & After

Hector Pieterson was one of the first children killed in the student uprisings protesting Apartheid in Soweto in June, 1976. This picture was taken of Hector, his sister Antoinette, and another student just after Hector was shot and killed by the South African Police.

On our pilgrimage, we had the honor of meeting Antoinette during our tour of Soweto. She still lives in the township and is currently building a memorial to honor her brother and the other students by laying stones along the path of their protest march.

In this picture Antoinette is standing in the middle at work on her current project.

The Bull Elephant

It is hard to describe how it feels to be within a couple of feet of a bull elephant in the wild:
